Simplified fall garden plan

A field-readable plan corrected from the measurements supplied for IMG_2838. The 20-foot depth is exact: a 2-foot top gap, an 8-foot upper row, a 2-foot center path, and an 8-foot lower row. Horizontal clearances follow the beds already built and are not invented here.

Direct-sow depths

  • Carrots: ¼–½ in; thin to 2 in.
  • Scallions: ¼–½ in; thin to 1 in.
  • Broccoli: ½ in; 2–3 seeds per station.
  • Cauliflower: ½ in; 2–3 seeds per station.

Succession rule

Broccoli and cauliflower seedlings move into gaps left after radish, turnip, kohlrabi, pak choi, or lettuce harvest. Mature cole crops still require roughly 18–24 inches.

Watering-can rule

Keep seed surfaces evenly damp with a gentle rose. Water established transplants deeply at their root zones only after the two-inch soil check shows drying.

Geometry check

The vertical dimensions total exactly 20 feet. Do not alter the five rectangular beds or six-foot herb circle. Preserve the horizontal access spaces already present in the field.

Alphabetical planting list

Bed numbers match the diagram. Counts are individual plants unless the row says seed batch.
