San Antonio wellness startup founders

On a Mission

Six months. Six intentions. Six walks. One shared mission.

Program concept

Walk with purpose. Build in company.

On a Mission turns a long pilgrimage into a six-month practice of movement, reflection, and founder reciprocity. Each gathering builds stamina while making room for the honest conversations that rarely fit inside a networking event.

Intentional wellness

Each founder names one intention for the walk and returns home with a journal prompt and one concrete next action.

Business mutual aid

Rotating pairs, founder spotlights, and an offer-and-ask exchange turn the group into a practical circle of referrals, skills, and encouragement.

Place-based progress

Distances increase over six months, culminating in the official Camino route from Mission Espada to San Fernando Cathedral.

Every gathering

Four conversation points, one reflective close.

The facilitation stays consistent while the scenery, distance, walking partners, and monthly intention change.

Meeting point

Opening circle: participants state an intention. Rotating founder pairs receive a guided walking question.

Stop 1

Business spotlight: one or two founders briefly introduce their work, the people they serve, and what they are learning.

Stop 2

Offer-and-ask exchange: each founder offers one resource and names one specific form of support they need.

Ending point

Badge ceremony: a trained facilitator applies the month’s DTF badge to each founder’s route-map bandana.

At home · journal reflection Participants record what shifted, one useful connection, and the next action they will take. They are encouraged to patronize, refer, collaborate with, and promote one another’s businesses when genuinely appropriate.

Progressive route plan

Six walks that build toward the pilgrimage.

Walking estimates come from the linked AllTrails route pages; program windows add time for the opening circle, two facilitated stops, water, and the badge ceremony.

Planning status: stopping points are provisional zones, not final assembly instructions. Every route needs an advance field scout to confirm trail conditions, shade, restrooms, road crossings, group capacity, church activity, and high-water closures. The final pilgrimage will follow the official Camino materials—not the shorter AllTrails “San Antonio Mission Trail.”

Founder field journal

Turn each walk into a next action.

The journal is a private working tool, not a performance log. Participants decide what remains private and what they want to share with their walking partner or cohort.

Before the walk

What is my intention today? What question am I carrying? What would useful support look like?

Along the route

What did my partner help me see? What can I offer the cohort? What am I ready to ask for clearly?

At home

What shifted? Who will I follow up with? What is one action I will complete in the next 72 hours?

Collectible route map

The bandana becomes a record of the walk.

A 22 × 22-inch prewashed cotton bandana carries an original simplified route map. Six open badge positions follow the mission sequence. At the end of each gathering, the month’s small DTF transfer is applied to its place on the map.

1
Draw an original routeUse official and field-verified geometry as reference; do not copy AllTrails cartography, Camino branding, or protected logos.
2
Design for DTFKeep the base print to one triangular wearing zone, use solid shapes and readable labels, and leave six clean badge landing areas.
3
Prototype the fabricTest one bandana through washing, folding, repeated heat cycles, and actual wear before ordering the cohort run.
4
Print the base mapHave a DTF vendor apply the large route graphic under controlled temperature, pressure, and peel instructions.
5
Apply badges safelyAt each ceremony, a trained facilitator uses a compact press—or an iron only when the transfer vendor certifies the method—while participants reflect and celebrate.

Free San Antonio support

Every walk points founders toward something usable.

Resources are promoted as optional public services, not sponsors. TVSA access is noncommercial and cannot be used to advertise a product or solicit funds.

Proposed microgrant

A complete six-month pilot for $1,000.

The budget prioritizes a visible shared artifact, founder reflection, safe group operations, and enough social promotion to recruit beyond an existing circle.

Before launch

The fieldwork still to do.

A strong concept is not yet a safe public event. These checks convert it into one.

Scout every route

Walk each route at the planned start time. Log crossings, shade, restrooms, water, cell coverage, gathering capacity, construction, and high-water alternatives.

Confirm operations

Set weather and heat thresholds, emergency contacts, accessibility options, shuttle plans, waivers, photo consent, pace groups, and a sweep volunteer.

Test the artifacts

Prototype the journal prompts and press every badge onto the final fabric before producing the cohort run.
