The Las Jaras Daily

The private-first daily newspaper edited by Librarian Margot Index from household-being notes: what matters, what needs Ilana, what can wait, and what the house seems to be asking for next.

1. Today's Edition

The front page shows the day at a glance.

Front Page

Placeholder headline: the house wants quieter mornings.

This lead story will summarize the most important pattern across all being notes. In a real edition, Margot might notice that lighting, coffee, temperature, and calendar stress are all pointing to the same need: a softer morning ritual.

Needs Ilana: maybe Owner: Soma + Barista Priority: gentle

Top Notes

  • Comfort Report: test warmer sunrise lighting before buying new devices.
  • Research Desk: save xeriscape border ideas to Pinterest, but keep plant list private.
  • Open Case: decide whether guest arrival mode needs a printed room card.

2. How Notes Become Action

Observation becomes a calm next step.

Being observes

A being notices a purchase idea, article, room issue, guest friction, or repeated house pattern inside its jurisdiction.

Margot edits

Librarian Margot Index turns all daily notes into a readable edition with patterns, decisions, and context.

Follow-up routes

Mailman tracks replies, Archivist records decisions, Penny reviews purchases, and Ilana only sees the decisions that matter.

3. Purchase Watch Desk

Interesting is not the same as approved.

This section tracks possible purchases without turning them into carts. Penny Cobalt reviews price, purpose, alternatives, urgency, and whether it supports the Las Jaras ethos.

4. Mood Board Dispatch

Pinterest gets the visual memory.

This section lists what should become visual boards: not decisions, just references worth seeing together.

Garden

Prickly pear, purple wandering jew, limestone edging, decomposed granite, magnolia shade, and low-water South Texas planting.

Rooms

Terracotta light, cobalt thresholds, Gramercy textures, soft drapery, warm glass, layered guest rooms, and no visible tech clutter.

Rituals

Breakfast trays, bath moments, night paths, reading corners, guest cards, coffee setup, and soft welcome scenes.

5. Public Story Queue

Instagram only gets the finished story.

This section separates private working notes from public-safe storytelling. Mira Queue drafts posts, PR checks framing, Blue Static checks privacy, and Ilana approves.

6. Open Questions For Ilana

Only the few decisions that need taste.

This keeps the newspaper from becoming another task list. Margot should surface only the questions that genuinely need Ilana's preference, approval, budget decision, or public-facing taste.

7. This Week's House Theme

A soft editorial focus keeps the house moving.

Each week gets one theme so notes across beings can gather around a shared direction.

Placeholder theme: Cooler sleep, warmer mornings.

Soma watches bedtime comfort, DJ Bluehour watches sound, Barista Luma watches morning ritual, Tock watches schedule friction, and Keeper Brisk watches the bedroom reset rhythm.

8. Signals From The House

Patterns matter more than pings.

This is where Margot synthesizes repeated signals from multiple beings.

9. Source Library

The record stays findable.

Archivist Vellum keeps the source trail, Librarian Margot makes it readable, and Blue Static decides what is public-safe.

Articles

Smart-home wellbeing, circadian lighting, hospitality, gardening, interior design, local travel, and safety references.

Products

Candidate devices, furniture, textiles, tools, plants, and supplies with caution notes and purchase status.

Visuals

Pinterest boards, photos, sketches, renderings, before/after images, screenshots, and public-ready assets.

10. What Not To Automate

Some care should stay human.

This may be the most important section. A living system is not a fully automated system. Some things should stay tactile, chosen, slow, private, or human.

Next build

From placeholder to real edition.

The next step is to connect the page to actual daily notes from each being, then let Margot produce a daily private edition before any public excerpts are selected.
