Las Jaras Garden Site Plan

Las Jaras site model | schematic v1

Garden planning starts with the parcel, not vibes.

A first-pass diagram for the roughly 75 ft x 137 ft Las Jaras lot, using the public-record site pieces, a true-north reference, South Texas sun exposure, and practical watering assumptions.

Watering assumptions

  • Summer plan should assume high evapotranspiration and hard afternoon heat.
  • Raised beds get drip or soaker lines; containers need faster visual checks.
  • Watering should happen early morning unless weather makes that wasteful.
  • Rain skip rule belongs in the Morning House Brief once weather automation is active.

Measurement checklist

  • Confirm front, rear, and side setbacks.
  • Measure actual house-to-fence distances.
  • Place detached storage, portable storage, deck, hose bibs, spigots, and outlets.
  • Capture shade photos at morning, noon, and late afternoon.

Next diagram pass

  • Add measured structure footprints.
  • Add hose bib reach circles and irrigation zones.
  • Add existing trees, shade, beds, containers, and walking paths.
  • Turn the site plan into a printable garden operating map.
